Enhance your garden with tips from professionals regarding roses, day-lilies, trees, and much more. Johnson County Garden Club’s Garden Celebration will be held Saturday, May 7, 9 a.m. - 3 p.m. Free parking is provided at Johnson County Fairgrounds, 250 Fairground St, Franklin, IN 46131. Located on the east side of the fairgrounds, Scott and Herring Halls will feature 40+ garden-related vendors and these educational seminars: • 10:30 a.m. – Bret Clement, Founder of Clement Daylily Gardens, Expert in Daylily Hybridization. Growing and Breeding Daylilies • 11:30 a.m. – Bob Bruner, Purdue Extension Educator (Clay/Owen Counties), Wild about Roses • 12:30 p.m. – Brooke Alford, Urban Agriculture Educator, Marion County Purdue Extension. Embracing Indiana’s Native Plants • 1:30 p.m. - Sara High, Forestry Education Specialist, Woods on Wheels, DNR-IN: Interactive mobile exhibit; seminar – Shrubs and Trees in the Garden 9 a.m. – 3 p.m. Andrea Quigley, Education Director, Providence Wildlife Rehabilitation, Northwest Indianapolis; at booth - Urban Raptors in Central Indiana Note: Seminar attendance qualifies for Purdue Master Gardener education hours. This year’s event is enhanced with a festive courtyard and live music. The Garden Café featuring selections from Geri Girl Bakery (Edinburgh) will provide breakfast and lunch for purchase.
