Grief comes in a variety of ways and affects each of us differently. Grief is not limited to the death of a loved one. It can be grief from a divorce, estrangement from our children/grandchildren, grief because of a traumatic childhood, even the loss of a beloved pet. It can surprise us in how it will overcome us in the most unlikely times. The longer we live, the more loss we experience. These valleys of loss can be difficult to maneuver, especially, alone.
This half day seminar is for senior adults who either find themselves encountering loss in some way or who are walking alongside someone who is grieving. Walking With Grief is on Thursday, April 10, 2025, 9:30 am – 12:15 pm at Kankakee First Church of the Nazarene, 1000 N. Entrance Ave., Kankakee, Illinois 60901. The keynote speaker is Rev. Steve Cook, director of Alliance Counseling, Channahon, IL. Steve is an ordained minister, Christian counselor, and life coach. Light refreshments will be provided.
